If you are a parent, you will be very concerned about what your son or daughter would finally shape out to be through academic and related processes in school. So you will do everything possible to ensure he/she attains the best grade. When the young man or girl develops academic problems you seek “hard pressing” tuition for him /her so that the marks can be good enough to take a career you think is best. This pressure is heightened by the very high expectations of colleges and universities, which always increase the minimum qualification index for admissions.

If you are a teacher you will notice a group of students who are very restless yet very bright and get quickly disillusioned and final underachievers. They are potential class disrupters who are always kicked out of class to enable others to learn. You will also notice others who are well behaved, but can only make it in certain subjects but the overall average is very low for good secondary, College/university admissions.

In the olden days, such students would receive serious pressure or punishment in order to perform and hence end up cramming what they would never comprehend. Such students are frustrated, feel badly let down by their parents and teachers and are the subject of peers ridicule.

The truths and facts are:

  • The richest persons in the world are not PHD holders.
  • The best businessman/woman in your country might not be a PHD holder who has done a lot of research.
  • The majority of country leaders are not PHD holders.
  • The best performing industry/company may not be headed by a PHD holder
 

So if my son / daughter is in lower primary or early secondary or already in an institution of higher learning, can’t I be in a position to forecast his/her future career, with certainty, so that I know where to put money, time and effort?

 

If I am already in employment and I wish to continue my education and feel that “I am only doing my current job because it is the one available “ but my talent could lie elsewhere, is there a way I can be evaluated professionally to take advantage of my work experience and natural talents? Can I now be sure of the right course and level that meets my career prospects for gainful employment, or personal business and beyond employment?
